The Best Small Camper Off Grid Power Solution!

This package performs as advertised. The pass through recharge and the speed of recharge greatly enhance the serviceability of the package. As with any solar charging, the rate of charge is significantly affected by the amount of sunshine. With full Florida sun between 0900am and 3:00pm base and expansion unit should fully charge. I have run my camper’s 5000BTU a/c for 8 hours with the power meter showing 2 remaining hours. If I was going off grid for more than three days I would still take a small generator to top off the unit in case of overcast skies. A robust battery allows me to sleep with a/c at campgrounds with generator restrictions. The “split” battery concept lets me take a smaller package when a/c is not desired.

Some good, some bad.

Extremely noisy when the cooling fans turn on....you cannot have a normal conversation if you are in the same room as the generator. The screen that shows how much energy is left till empty is way off. I ran a small chest freezer for a day plugged into the generator and when I unplugged it the unit still showed 99% full yet when I plugged the generator into the solar panels it showed only 91% full. The solar panels are very efficient but they have to be in the direct sun for quite awhile before they send any energy to the battery. This may be common for solar panels as this is my first time using any. All in all I hope I never have to use it during an emergency but am glad it is available if needed.

Safari ME Delux Kit

Seems to work well. But laying the panels out on the ground is inviting someone to steal them. Is there some kind of roof mount kit available?

Extraordinary delivery of Safari ME Deluxe Kit - Customer rep. Jose Lus Garcia is tops!!

Fantastic experience. Our electronic gear was being tested and we asked Lion to expedite them so we could meet with siblings to show them off. Juan Lus Garcia was amazing in helping chase down the order, get it posted for UPS, and info back to me on the delivery. We got them two days later and on the third day showed them off to several siblings who are interested in solar emergency prep. equipment. Please give Jose Lus Garcia our highest regards for his extra special efforts to help. The equipment arrived all well packaged and ready to plug and play with. High kudos for Lion! We recommend them to anyone as THE BEST.
