The Safari UT lithium battery series performs better than lead acid batteries in most weather conditions. It can charge between temps of 32° and 113°F and can discharge between -4° and 131°F at 100% rate.
ALL types of batteries need to be above freezing in order to charge them. As a result, it is best to use the batteries in a climate controlled location (not on the tongue of a trailer or using a lead acid battery compartment that has to be ventilated, thus allowing freezing air to circulate around the battery).
The Safari UT and other lithium batteries can be placed in an insulated space, inside the RV or other climate controlled areas. Some users have suggested using a Battery Heating Pad that you can find online. We recommend using the battery in a climate controlled location.
Felt lucky to get one of these as have been hard to snag. Received early in January, packaged well and great communications from Lion during order and shipping. Heater strip easy to apply, instructions ok. For me, applying on competitive mini lithium battery, found terminal ends pretty light and terminal rings to small for my 8mm battery terminal bolt. Just replaced ring terminals with bigger, heavier ring ends. Not scientific test but put battery with warmer and insulated bag outside on concrete with temp at 19•F. Put a remote temp sender unit in bag to monitor temp change and put heavy towel over bag. Let drift down to 40•F and then turned on warmer. Temp in bag immediately started climbing and stabilized at 50 to 51•F. Then put battery warmer, bag and temp sender in a perfect sized styrofoam cooler and covered that with a heavy towel. Same process but then held at 54 to 55•F. Believe this will work fine and help manage our cold weather charging restrictions.

Excellent. A product I could trust for my large 200ah battery. Bought two, connected the two wires into one, then attached one to each side of battery. Cut one side out of each of the blankets and used Gorilla Taped to connect them. Then a large bungie cord to hold heat in around the top - installed in a Noco 4D box and added a blue tooth temp gauge to know when to turn on. Thanks for having a battery heater I could trust...maybe also make a bigger version for updated large Lithiums?

Pretty easy to install. Put battery in bag and attach wires. Push button to turn on, and light comes on switch.
