THE BLACKOUT CHOICE

Most backup power makes you pick what to save.

Picture it: an ice storm takes the lines down at 2 a.m. The house is going cold. The freezer is full. Someone in the bedroom sleeps with a CPAP. Your phone is at 18%.

A gas generator can’t run in the garage or the house — it has to sit outside, loud, in the storm, and it needs fuel you may not be able to buy when the pumps are down too. A small power station is quiet, but it runs out of energy by morning. So you start rationing: the fridge or the CPAP. The furnace fan or the Wi‑Fi.

You shouldn’t have to choose. That’s why we built the Power Duo — a system where every piece has one job.

“…We continue to have frequent power outages and this presents a problem when our sump pumps kick on. We recently purchased another safari lion as well as 2 expansion packs. The solar panels are easy to hook up and do a great job of charging the unit while in use. We highly recommend this product!”

“I purchased the Lion Safari LT, because we do a lot of tent camping and I was hoping this unit would run my CPAP machine. I turn off the heated humidifier on my CPAP and this Lion Safari LT will run my CPAP for 4 nights no problem. The solar panel makes it very easy to recharge the unit. Great product and great tech support.”

“I purchased a Lion Energy Safari power supply and Lion Energy Safari XP bundle… The bundle came with 6 solar panels and a 25ft extension cable… We have tested the system and feel this will power [our] refrigerator/freezer, lighting, fans or a heater, cell phones and devices during a power failure. This set is portable for camping or remote off the grid living.”

THE HONEST COMPARISON

Power Duo vs. a gas generator

A gas generator costs you every time you use it: fuel, oil, stabilizer, spark plugs and test runs. The Power Duo’s costs are almost all up front, and its fuel is free.

Lion Safari + XP + Solar Portable gas generator
Safe to run indoors Yes — zero emissions No — carbon monoxide risk
Noise Silent Loud enough to hear down the street
Fuel in a long outage Sunlight, every day Gasoline you have to store or find
Storage & maintenance Holds a charge up to 1 year (Safari) and 2 years (XP). Top it off once a season. Stabilizer, drained carburetor, oil, spark plugs and test runs
Clean power for CPAP / electronics Pure sine wave Depends on the model
Cost per kWh stored ~16¢ over its 3,500 rated cycles* Fuel, oil and parts every hour it runs
Everyday use Camping, RV, job site, backyard — silent and indoor-safe Outdoors only, and loud
Grows with you Add panels or the XP later; nothing to replace Need more power? Buy a bigger generator
Warranty 5 years [TYPICAL TERM]

*$2,449 Power Duo price ÷ (4.3 kWh × 3,500 rated cycles) ≈ $0.16 per kWh. Rated cycles are a manufacturer estimate; actual life depends on use and storage conditions.

An honest note before you order

The Power Duo is not a whole‑house system. It won’t run central air, an electric furnace or an electric water heater. It’s built to keep the things that matter most — food, medical devices, heat circulation, light and communication — running through an outage. For whole‑home backup, ask us about the Lion Sanctuary.

POWER THAT REFILLS ITSELF

A gas can runs dry. The sun comes back tomorrow.

The Safari’s built‑in 25A MPPT solar controller takes up to 600W. Link six of our 24V panels and you can refill an empty Safari in about 2.5–3.5 hours of good sun. Even two panels put real energy back every day.

~750Wh
per sunny day with 2 panels
~1,500Wh
per sunny day with 4 panels
~2,250Wh
per sunny day with 6 panels

Daily estimates assume ~5 peak sun hours at ~75% real‑world output; winter, clouds and panel angle will lower them. Use only 24V Lion panels of the same model — not compatible with 12V panels.

WHY IT’S BUILT THIS WAY

Plain‑English answers to the specs

3,000W + 6,000W surge

Enough to start a refrigerator compressor or a saw without tripping. Most “small” units can’t.

Pure sine wave

The same clean power as your wall outlet, so it’s safe for CPAPs, laptops and sensitive electronics.

LiFePO₄, 3,500+ cycles

Lithium iron phosphate is the long‑life, thermally stable chemistry. Charge it every day for nearly a decade.

Holds a charge for a year

Store the Safari up to 1 year and the XP up to 2 years. Top it off once a season and forget it.

Fast wall charging

Safari: ~2.3 hours from a wall outlet. Safari + XP: ~6 hours. Charge it the moment a storm is forecast.

Outlets for everything

AC outlets, 2× USB‑C 60W PD, 2× USB‑A, a regulated 12V socket and a NEMA TT‑30 RV port.

Safe inside the house

Zero emissions and silent. No carbon monoxide, no extension cords out to the yard.

Firmware engineered in the USA

Lion designs its software and firmware in the USA. Bluetooth monitoring is built in for real‑time readouts.

Protected by a smart BMS

Built‑in protection against overcharge, over‑discharge, short circuit, overload and overheating.

OFF-GRID SOLAR

Off-grid solar power you can carry — no installer, no permits, no roof

Most off-grid solar systems mean a contractor, a battery bank bolted to the wall and a separate inverter, charge controller and wiring. The Safari Power Kit puts the whole off-grid solar setup in two boxes: a 3,000W inverter, a 25A MPPT solar charge controller and 4,300Wh of LiFePO₄ storage. Unfold the 24V panels, run the 25′ cable, and you’re making your own power.

Questions, answered

Will it run my refrigerator?

Yes. The 3,000W inverter and 6,000W surge start a standard refrigerator compressor easily. On the Safari alone, expect about a day; with the XP, about 2–3 days before solar.

Can it power my furnace?

A gas furnace’s blower and controls usually draw a few hundred watts, which the Safari handles. Most furnaces are hard‑wired, so you’ll need a transfer switch or power inlet installed by a licensed electrician.

Is it safe for my CPAP?

Yes. It outputs pure sine wave power. A typical CPAP without the humidifier runs about 4 nights on the Safari and about 11 nights with the XP. Check your machine’s wattage with us.

Can I use it inside my house?

Yes. It produces no emissions and no carbon monoxide, and it’s silent.

Do I need the XP?

If you want to get through a multi‑day outage without rationing, yes. The XP nearly triples stored energy from 1,612Wh to 4,300Wh. You can add it later, but it’s cheapest in a kit.

Will the panels work in winter?

Yes, at reduced output — shorter days, a lower sun angle and snow cover all cut production. Clear the panels and tilt them toward the sun. Plan on less than our sunny‑day estimates.

Can the Safari be my off-grid solar system?

For a cabin, RV or homestead with moderate loads, yes. The Safari + XP with six 24V panels is a complete portable off-grid solar system: inverter, MPPT charge controller, 4,300Wh of storage and up to 600W of solar input. For an all-electric home or heavy loads like central air, ask us about a permanently installed system.

Can I use my existing 12V panels?

No. The Safari’s solar input needs 24V panels, and you should only connect panels of the same model.

Will it run my RV?

Yes. The Safari has a NEMA TT‑30 port, so you can plug your RV or trailer straight in when there’s no shore power.

How is it shipped, and when?

[SHIPPING TIMELINE AND METHOD]. Units arrive [CHARGE LEVEL] so you can use them out of the box.

Can I pay over time?

[FINANCING DETAILS — partner, terms, credit check yes/no].
