How can you figure out how long the Cub GO will power a specific device?

The Cub GO has 120Wh of power output. To calculate how long the Cub GO can power a device, use this formula: Wh / W = Estimated Run Time.

How long can the Cub GO hold a charge?

It will maintain its charge for 3 - 6 months without having to charge it. This is known as shelf life or storage life. However, we recommend using it more frequently – on the go, at home or play, or anywhere you need power.

Great for emergencies

We live in Florida where it's common to get storms, hurricanes and other severe weather. The Lion Energy Lion Cub GO Generator is a great item to have for emergency situations or when there will be short-term power outages. Be aware that this is not like a regular emegency power bank. This item is quite large. You can plug in one regular device, such as a lamp, television or radio. I've never seen that on a power bank like this. You then get a great variety of ports from car accessory/cigarette lighter, a couple of USB ports and a USB-C port. Testing this unit, it worked perfectly. The time a device will stay on will vary wildly, depending how much power draw there is. For a small television, it'll last about an hour. Our larger television lasts 15 minutes. An LED lamp will last hours. The nice thing is that this power brick can be paired with a Lion Energy solar panel, which can charge it up in a day (on a sunny day) or more likely, over a couple of days. But when you're in the middle of an emergency situation, this is a great thing to have when desperate to charge up a phone or even just use the built-in flashlight. We keep this out on the desk all the time, just in case it's needed.

Works great

I tried to use this with a 20 watt solar panel but it would not charge much at all. I think it is the panel and not the generator. I plugged it into our wall socket and it charged right up rather quickly. You have to push and hold buttons to get it to work. The instructions could be a lot better. My husband got on their website and tried the chat feature to find out how to work it and did not get any good help. We just figured it out on our own. It is great to charge up and take where there is no electric to charge or just run electrical items. I'm very happy with this Go generator once I figured out how to use it!

Lots of power

This is more than a battery with power ports, which it has lots of! With a build in inverter to give you AC power, it is super handy to have around. I can run a lamp or even small electronics and power tools off of the AC plug! It has a really bright flashlight and three USB ports (one type C) and a cigarette lighter power port. I keep it connected to the separate Lion Energy solar panel and it stays charged for emergency and remote power whenever I need it. It is a great size to keep in a car, boat, or campsite for some extra power. With the other Lion accessories, you can charge it and charge other accessories, like the Lion jump starter and tire inflator. I recently used it to run some temporary Christmas lights outside for a while where it wasn't easy to stretch an extension cord.

What a great device!

The Lion Cub GO Portable Power Unit is really great. It can be used with the optional LionEnergy Solar Panel and allowed to charge in direct sunlight. It can also be charged with an AC plug, using the provided wall charger and cables. It has an AC output socket, 2 USB outlets, a Type C outlet, and a 12 V cigarette lighter outlet. A LED flashlight is also included. With the AC output socket, we can actually recharge our older Mac laptops. The Cub GO can charge phones up to 15 times or your laptop about twice, depending of course on how much power the device requires. And it can hold a charge for 6-10 months, although it is suggested to recharge it every 3 months. We like to carry it in our car, for those times when we need emergency power for our phones or other small devices. We think this power unit is a fantastic product and the price is more than comparable as it has feature that other power units do not have.

Ingenious Portable Power Unit

So this power unit is really quite ingenious. It gets its power from the sun via a solar panel. The GO Generator attaches and gives off 20 watts to 2 USB ports. You can take it camping, to the beach, or use it when there is a power outage. It is very lightweight and easy to store. You can take it almost anywhere. You can plug in laptops, cameras, iPhones, tv's, drone, etc. It works well and is quite compact. Attached are two photos. Great for the outdoors. You could use it on a boat or camper. It has options for USB, 12 Volt and AC. I like it.
