The Safari UT lithium battery series performs better than lead acid batteries in most weather conditions. It can charge between temps of 32° and 113°F and can discharge between -4° and 131°F at 100% rate.
ALL types of batteries need to be above freezing in order to charge them. As a result, it is best to use the batteries in a climate controlled location (not on the tongue of a trailer or using a lead acid battery compartment that has to be ventilated, thus allowing freezing air to circulate around the battery).
The Safari UT and other lithium batteries can be placed in an insulated space, inside the RV or other climate controlled areas. Some users have suggested using a Battery Heating Pad that you can find online. We recommend using the battery in a climate controlled location.
Installation was quick, minimal tools We installed this on 4 105 AH batteries. The tested current draw was as advertised. Battery temperatures were brought up from ambient (26F) to 34F. At -8F, the warmers were unable to hold the temperatures above 32F, but were able to keep them above Lion's -4F service temperatures. Welcome to Nothern Minnesota. I expect our excursions in more moderate temperatures (mid 20s and above) will find these warmers adequate and efficient. The silicon pads attached quickly and easily. The battery fit in our application was a big snug, but adequate. we will plan to provide a top cover for the batteries to be used in temperatures below 18F to see if the warmers can keep the batteries a bit warmer. Note: all temps obtained from Lion's BT application, and not battery surface temp as measured externally.

One size, the cover or blanket was too small for my battery it warms but not enough to warm the battery bit it's a 280 ah, price was right and service good I wish Lion offered more sizes and choices. In the end it's just money spent. I am going to try a couple more things to insulate and hope for the best. 15° degrees here now. Not that we camp in that but we do camp in 30° and 40° weather.
United StatesThese battery warmers function very well to achieve maximum capacity of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries in cold weather. They do not require excessive energy and are directly connected to the battery utilizing the warming capacity of the warmer. The capacity of the battery will automatically increase as it warms.
