Being a true LiPo4 battery and twice the capacity of the primary ME unit, this is a no brainer if you're looking for a Solar Generator. When asked what my recommendations would be for buying a solar generator, I always say : Make sure you're buying a LiPo4 battery (NOT an NMC) and that the primary unit is expandable. The primary unit should be 2000wats (This unit is 1000w), it should be rechargeable by several methods and be easily portable. Although this unit is only 1Kw, it allows for expansion batteries that are easily plugged into the ME, and are they are relatively affordable. Only downside I can see (for MY needs) is that this uses a 24volt solar system. I have a bunch of 12volt panels, but I suppose I could just put two in series? The other units I have use MP4 connectors, but Lion uses a 30a Anderson connector, so I had to buy an adapter from MP4 to Anderson, aout 12 bucks. The capacity of these units are great, they are easily transportable and should last a very l o n g time. I just wish that the XP could be AC charged independently, but that entail the addition of a charge controller which would me a higher cost, so,...overall a very nicely constructed unit that I expect years of service from. I call Lion prior to purchase. I asked whether if you depleted the ME, you could just plug in the XP and was told yes. Perfect for my needs.
